Implementing The Balanced Care Method™, the Home Care Assistance of San Diego Culinary Academy teaches our caregivers how to prepare delicious and nutritious meals for Home Care Assistance clients.
Why settle for processed or frozen foods?
At the Home Care Assistance of San Diego exclusive Culinary Academy, our caregivers learn to cook delicious, fresh, healthy meals taught by our own Culinary Instructor and Personal Chef, Dorothy DiTomaso.
In classes at the Academy, our caregivers learn about menu planning, shopping for seasonal foods, how to pick the freshest produce, creating shopping lists, cooking without animal fats, food storage and much more.
And they receive hands-on instruction in preparing recipes from our Balanced Care Method™ Workbook and our Recipes for Life cook book which includes quick to prepare (generally 30 minutes and under) meals—from starters to desserts. The nutritious recipes include Grilled Pork Chops and Pineapple, Spice-Rubbed Salmon (one of my favorites), Slow Cooker Beef Pot Roast, Roasted Glazed Sweet Potatoes, Garden Vegetable Pizza, Herbed Baked oven Fries with Garlic and Parsley, Quick Apple Crisp, Strawberries on a Cloud and many more.
